The season 2 premiere of Hawaii Five-0 on Sunset on the Beach last night in Waikiki was a huge success for everyone involved. Over 10,000 fans packed the beach to get a glimpse of their favorite Hawaii Five-0 stars, and to see the season 2 premiere of the show nine days before the rest of the nation.
The entire Five-0 cast and walked down a red carpet while thousands of fans of the show’s cast waited to get autographs and pictures. Many fans had been camped out for hours and hours, as parking is always hard to find and they wanted to make sure they had a chance to meet/see their favorite Hawaii Five-0 stars.
Building on the amount of people from the season one premiere last year, Sunset on the Beach continues to throw excellent events that bring out record crowds.
The Sunset on the Beach event has been around for a while, but it wasn’t until LOST started showing their shows there that the event started to really gain wild popularity. With Hawaii Five-0 being a bonafide hit, Sunset on the Beach will continue to bring out record crowds for the event (when it involves the show).
This was the second time that the Hawaii Five-0 producers have used the Sunset on the Beach event as a promotion tool for the show. Last year’s season one premiere drew 5,000 people, many of whom were just curious to see the reboot version of the show.
This year was doubly successful, garnering both old and new fans of the show. In it’s first season, Hawaii Five-0 became the number one new show on television and remained a top 10 hit for the year. The show also garnered also garnered an Emmy nomination for Scott Caan, who plays Danno on the hit show.
Hawaii Five-0 should remain a pretty big hit for CBS, and Sunset on the Beach will definitely host the show again.
