Aloha ʻAina, Aloha Kai – Love of the Land, Love of the Sea
The 2014 Festival launches on Hawaiʻi Island with Aloha ʻAina, Aloha Kai – Love of the Land, Love of the Sea at the Waikoloa Beach Resort with the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort and Hilton Waikoloa Village. Hawaiʻi Island, the largest island in the Hawaiian archipelago is abundant with fertile agricultural lands that produce local beef, seafood and produce. Join us for an exclusive six course gala on the volcanic grounds of the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort featuring products grown on Hawaiʻi Island.

Learn from Hawaiian cultural practitioners what it takes to care for the Heʻeia ahupuaʻa (ancient land division extending from mountain to sea), an 800-year-old fishpond and loʻi on the windward side of Oʻahu. Laulima means a group of people working together, so take your pick: clear limu and rocks out of an 800-year-old fishpond or get your hands and feet muddy in the loʻi (irrigated terrace) to experience traditional practices of land stewardship. Change of clothing recommended, lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Battle of the Brunch Showdown hosted by Adam Richman
Hosted by Adam Richman, enjoy Sunday brunch with a battle of the chef duos, as three female master chefs get paired with three of their male counterparts to cook up some of the most creative, delightful and tasty breakfast-lunch dishes. Up on the roof-top of the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort & Spa, guests will be asked to judge each dish and determine the winning duo in the first Battle of the Brunch. All dishes will be prepared using the finest locally grown, caught and raised products in Hawaii. Cocktails will also be served up by the lovely ladies of Southern Wine & Spirits of Hawaii.
