Actor Dennis Quaid has decided he wants to move to Hawaii. Quaid is trying to sell his 420-acre southern Montana ranch near Yellowstone National Park for $14 million.
According to his agent, Quaid has developed quite an interest in surfing, and wants to buy a ranch here in Hawaii. All attempts to get a comment form Quaid were unsuccessful this past week. He has owned the Paradise Valley ranch south of Emigrant for about 25 years.
Glacier Sotheby’s International Realty has already put the ranch on the market Oct. 14. The property borders Gallatin National Forest and includes a 5,300-square-foot home, four guest houses, a ranch manager’s home and horse facilities.
If you live in Hawaii you understand why someone would want to move here. What’s not to like? At first thought though, the sudden interest in surfing and wanting to uproot everything to move somewhere to pursue it may be strange.
Perhaps Quiad caught the bug last year on Kauai, where he spent several months filming “Soul Surfer,” the inspiring story of Bethany Hamilton. Quiad, who plays Hamilton’s father in the movie, probably caught the surfing bug and is now willing to start a new adventure in life.
Welcome to Hawaii Dennis Quaid! Enjoy the surf!
