The University of Hawaii wahine volleyball team has been on a tear lately and it is starting to show more in the national women’s volleyball rankings. After winning their last 16 matches in a row, the wahine moved up a spot to No. 7 in today’s AVCA Coaches Top 25 poll.
It’s the highest ranking this season for the Rainbow Wahine , who are 21-1 overall, and a perfect 9-0 in Western Athletic Conference play.
The team left the islands today to embark on their final regular-season WAC road trip. Hawaii plays at San Jose State Tuesday, Fresno State Thursday and Nevada Saturday.
The rest of the top rankings shaped up this way. Nebraska (17-1) is the No. 1, followed by California (21-2), Illinois (20-1), USC (17-3, Stanford (16-3) and UCLA (18-3).
