Where to Watch New Year’s Eve Fireworks Displays in Hawaii

There are not many places in the world better than Hawaii for celebrating the new year. With that being said, Hawaii also has some of the very best New Year’s Eve fireworks displays around. Below you will find listings for where to watch the best fireworks displays throughout all of our majestic Hawaiian islands.

Oahu New Year’s Eve Fireworks Displays

Waikiki Beach Fireworks Display

• When: Midnight
• Where: Waikiki Beach (Beachfront)
• Cost: Free, it is open to everyone.

This New Year’s Eve fireworks display is arguably the most popular one in Hawaii. It has been around for some time, and is visible from the entire Waikiki Beachfront area and beyond. Included is a fireworks/new year’s countdown before the show.

Aloha Tower Marketplace Fireworks Show

• When: Midnight
• Where: Downtown Honolulu at Aloha Tower area and along the pier.
• Cost: Free and open to everyone.

The fireworks will be shot out of displays that have been built along the harbor. The best place to see the show is along the pier somewhere or around the area. There will also be plenty of dining and drink specials at Aloha Tower leading up to the fireworks show.

JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa

• When: Midnight
• Where: Ko Olina Resort located at 92-1001 Olani St.
• Cost: Free and open to everyone.

The fireworks show takes place at the Ihilani Resort and is viewable from much of the west side of Oahu. One of the better shows around.

Big Island New Year’s Eve Fireworks Displays

Four Seasons Resort Hualalai

• When: Midnight
• Where: The Hualalai Resort, located at 72-100 Kaupulehu Drive, Kailua-Kona (off Queen Kaahumanu Highway).
• Cost: No cost, but only hotel guests are allowed to actually go to the best area to view the show. Either find another spot to watch the show, or check-in for a couple of nights.

Fireworks are shot from the Four Seasons beachfront so guests of the hotel (as stated above) will have the best views. However, the can also be viewed from Queen Kaahumanu Highway.

Maui New Year’s Eve Fireworks Displays

The Grand Wailea Resort

• When: Midnight
• Where: The resort, located at 3850 Wailea Alanui Drive
• Cost: Free and open to everyone. You can view the show best from Wailea Beach Park.

This is hands down the best New Year’s fireworks display on Maui. The best spots for the resort’s annual fireworks are along Wailea Beach Park. If you’re staying in Wailea, just take the Wailea Coastal Walk to Wailea Beach. Everyone can view the show, and it is always fantastic.

Kauai New Year’s Eve Fireworks Displays

Poipu Beach Fireworks Display

• When: 9:30PM (Yes that time is correct)
• Where: Poipu Beach Park on Kauai’s south shore.
• Cost: Free and open to everyone.

This show starts earlier than the other fireworks shows around the state. It is open to everyone and the very best places to view the show are at the Sheraton Kauai Resort and Poipu Beach Park. However, you can also see the show from most of the Poipu area resorts, condos and beaches.

Lanai New Year’s Eve Fireworks Displays

Four Seasons Resort Lanai at Manele Bay

• When: Midnight
• Where: Show goes down at Hulopoe Beach
• Cost: Free and open to everyone.

The show is open to all. The best viewing areas are from the Four Seasons Manele Bay property itself, and also from anywhere on Hulopoe Beach.
