It is about that time again. The annual Hawaii Rice Festival is rolling into town and this year it will be bigger than ever. Presented by Rice Fest, the Hawaii Rice Festival is in its third year of this event, and the past two years have been amazing, so the 2012 Hawaii Rice Festival should be the biggest one yet.
Celebrate Hawaii’s beloved grain (rice) at the Third Annual Hawaii Rice Festival. The event is being held at Ward Warehouse from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will feature a full day of activities. Among the activities planned will be cook-offs, contests, demonstrations, yummy food, and an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the world’s Largest SPAM Musubi!
The event will be held at Ward Centers, and will probably be packed out. The best thing about this event? It’s FREE! Bring your appetite and enthusiasm and get ready to celebrate the biggest food product in Hawaii, and the rest of the world… Rice!
**Note: They will be taking brown rice donations for Lanakila Pacific’s “Meals on Wheels” program, which feeds needy seniors. So bring your donations the day of the event!
