Police are investigating the discovery of a body found at the Koko Crater Botanical Garden this morning. The fire department had been searching the area since Thursday afternoon for a possible missing person.
Capt. Terry Seelig, the Honolulu Fire Department spokesman, said police asked firefighters to help search for the occupant of a car that was parked for more than 24 hours at the city park at the end of Kokonani Street.
Seelig said the department’s helicopter conducted an aerial search until nightfall Thursday.
The search resumed at 6 this morning and firefighters found the body of man in the park.
The identification of the person found has not been released yet.
