HGTV will air a Hawaii based episode of House Hunters – its national and international hit show, this Friday in Hawaii. To pull this off the casting directors for HGTV and House Hunters were looking for someone with insight and knowledge regarding the Hawaii Real Estate scene. They found exactly what they were looking for – and more, when they decided to cast a Hawaii realtor to help bring the episode to life.
Grant “Kapono” Kanoho is the latest edition to the House Hunter’s family. The casting process was tough and tedious, as the HGTV casting people demanded someone with Hawaii Real Estate knowledge and a sense of humor. They found this when they ended the several month long casting process by casting Hawaii Realtor Grant “Kapono” Kanoho as the lead for this episode.
So what made Kanoho stand out from the rest? Well, I was there to help him with his audition tape, and needless to say, even if they hated his audition, there would be no way that they would ever forget it. Without going into too many details, Kanoho was able to smoothly and easily show the true side of himself, the Hawaii Real Estate market, and what it takes to get a home bought in Hawaii. He did all of this while at the same time showing the casting directors his own unique humor and process. One, which I am sure not many other Realtors in Hawaii practice.
See, Kanoho’s way of doing things is different than most. Now I am not here to knock on other Realtors or Real Estate companies, but there was a good reason that the Casting people at HGTV chose him for the episode. Unlike many others in the business, he actually does put the client first. So much so that he makes himself available 24/7 to all of his clients.

His unique brand of humor, together with his knowledge of Hawaii Real Estate and the way he cares for his clients impressed the HGTV people so much that they are already in talks with him to do another episode.
For those of us that know Grant, we know that he is a hard worker, almost to a fault, but we also know that he didn’t just get to were he is by being silly all the time. For every joke that Grant has, he also has a wealth of knowledge in the area of Hawaii Real Estate.
Kanoho is the Principle Broker of Watanabe International, Inc. He is also the CRS President of the 2012 Hawaii Aloha Chapter. A list that includes the “best of the best,” and is comprised of the top 4 percent of Realtors nationwide.
He has done this by going far and beyond what most real estate professionals do, as serving the clients and putting them first and foremost is a trademark quality of what makes him stand out from the crowd. Operating in this way has allowed Grant to serve his clients in a way that other real estate professionals don’t. It has also allowed him to grow in the industry much faster than most.
I have been privileged enough to have been friends with Grant for almost 20-years, and I can tell you this…. There is no better Real Estate professional in Hawaii than him. Am I biased? Sure, maybe a little, but at least now I have the HGTV people backing me up. Not only that, but talk to anyone that has ever crossed paths with him and they will tell you the same thing.
I know I will be tuned in to see the show, as I know Grant Kanoho will represent Hawaii and his clients to the fullest. Tune in yourself and you will see what I mean.
