It is so hard to survive these days as an independent music store, yet Hungry Ear Records continues to defy odds. Having lasted more than three decades, including this last decade when digital downloading of music overtook the music scene, Hungry Ear will celebrate its 31st anniversary with a thank you to its longtime customers by holding a big sale from Thursday to Saturday.
Owners Denny Chong and Ward Yamashita will have a big sale on just about every item that is available in store the store. New CDs, DVD’s, Blue-Rays and vinyl records will be discounted by 20%. Used versions of all the above items will be discounted at 30%. Used classical and opera CDs, along with other selected CDs will be sold for $1.
As part of the big sale to say thank you to their longtime customers for 31-years in Kailua, Hawaii, Hungry Ear will also give away any five vinyl LP’s that are priced at $4 or less (limit one visit per customer).
“We’re also glad to support local musicians, carrying their recordings and promoting their live shows,” said Denny Chong in a news release. The owners have always said that they wanted their store to be a place where you can come and enjoy a couple of hours of talking about and listening to good music.
The small location in Kailua, Hawaii houses more than 3,000 vinyl records and more than 5,000 CDs. Get on out to the big sale these next three days and pick up some music and movies at a great discount.
