Miss Hawaii is having a very nice showing at the 2012 Miss America Pageant. Last night she even won the third round of the competition outright with her jump rope routine.
Miss Hawaii Lauren Cheape won a $2,000 scholarship for her routine to “Hawaii Five-O” at Thursday night’s preliminary. The talent portion is 35 percent of a contestant’s score. Since she won this category out right, this should be a good way to continue run in the competition.
Other contestants are doing well in other categories right now as well. Miss New York Kaitlin Monte earned a $1,000 scholarship after appearing in a Monte Carlo Komplique swimsuit. The fitness category is 15 percent of a contestant’s score.
Miss Hawaii and Miss New York join Miss Wisconsin and Miss Oklahoma, who won for talent in preliminaries earlier this week. Miss Utah and Miss Texas won swimsuit in rounds one and two.
The finals of the Miss America Pageant are set for Saturday at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. Good luck Miss Hawaii!
