The National Weather Service has issued a high-surf advisory for Kauai and Niihau that should last through Wednesday evening.
A northwest swell is expected to build tonight, bringing surf of 10 to 15 feet to Kauai and Niihau. This according to the Weather Service. Surf is expected to reach advisory levels before midnight and hold through Wednesday.
The advisory is in effect from 6 p.m. today to 6 p.m. Wednesday.
A high surf advisory means that waves will affect beaches in the advisory area, producing rup currents and localized beach erosion, the Weather Service said.
