Three huge stars have teamed up to perform together and they are bringing their “Dukes of September” concert tour through Hawaii. Singer-songwriters Donald Fagen of Steely Dan, Michael McDonald of the Doobie Brothers and Boz Scaggs, best known for his blockbuster solo album “Silk Degrees,” have teamed up for an amazing concert tour.
The “Dukes of September” will land in Hawaii this fall — Oct. 24 at the Blaisdell Concert Hall, with tickets going on sale starting Saturday, Aug. 25, and Oct. 25 at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center — on their way to a series of concerts in Japan, including a Nov. 1. show at Budokan Arena in Tokyo.
All three guys have had a major impact in music over the years, and for any lover of music this is an all-star event. All three guys have a love for Hawaii, but it seems that McDonald has the greatest love for the islands. At the Dalai Lama’s “Pillars of Peace” appearance in April at the Stan Sheriff Center, McDonald sang and played keyboards alongside Henry Kapono; in 2011 he participated in the “Kokua for Japan” concert at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.
The concert will be amazing and shouldn’t be missed, especially if you are a fan of any one of these guys. The “Dukes of September” will hit Hawaii in October, playing shows at both the Blaisdell and the Maui Arts and Cultural Center.
