Residents of Hawaii can expect all the vog and muggy weather to hang around at least through this week. According to the National Weather Service, a voggy haze and muggy weather will stick around through Friday.
There have not been many tradewinds lately, so this is allowing the vog to sit longer than it usually would. While these same tradewinds are the culprit for bringing the vog our way, we still need them so they can blow the vog out once it gets here.
Light winds from the southeast are blowing vog from Kilauea over Oahu and other islands. The skies are expected to become hazy this afternoon and remain voggy until the tradewinds return Friday.
If vog causes you breathing problems or allergies, then make sure to take precaution this week, as it looks like you may have to deal with it for several days.
