New Year’s Eve is almost here. Ringing in the new year in Hawaii is going to be amazing as always. Not sure what is going on where? There are a ton of New Year’s Eve parties going down in Hawaii, all of which will offer their own unique way to help you ring it the new year. With the exception of one party, everything goes down on December 31st. Check out the list below and see which one you want to be a part of the help you wave goodbye to 2011 and ring in 2012 with a bang!
Always be sure to set yourself up with a designated driver for New Year’s Eve. We know that the parties will be amazing, but there is no need to end the night in jail, or worse, by harming someone else on the road home.

Haleiwa Joe’s Starlight Ball
This “winter formal” event, presented by Absolut, is a night for fine cocktail attire, dancing and an elegant atmosphere, with complimentary pupu served from 10 to 11 p.m. for those with pre-sale tickets. A Starlight King and Queen will be crowned and awarded prizes at the end of the night.

DEC 31st: NEW YEAR’S EVE
Tiki Waikiki Drop 2012, New Year’s Eve Party
Tiki’s is going for it, with a celebration that starts at 5 p.m. with Johnny Helm and Kona Longboards giveaways for the first guests. At 7:30, Kunoa plays Island music and a DJ takes the party into the new year starting at 10 p.m., with a champagne toast at midnight. The Waikiki fireworks will be visible from Tiki’s, too.

“Modern Experience: New Year’s Eve”
This party will cover various spots in the Modern hotel, and VIP ticketholders will also be admitted to a day-after BeachClub Pool Party on the pool deck on Jan. 1.
There’s a big lineup, with entertainers including New York DJs Roctakon (who describes himself on Twitter as a “Notorious Party Boy Skater, DJ, sexual renegade and author” and Neil Armstrong (an Adidas Global DJ), L.A. Party Rock producer/DJ Audiobot and Party Rock DJ Lucky Lou, along with local DJs XL, Delve, Compose, Anit, Eskae and Jami.
Cracked lounge singer Richard Cheese, a headliner in his own right, will also host a lounge area in the hotel. He won’t be singing, but he’ll be in character as an official party host: He’s billing his appearance as “non-singing, all-drinking

“The Party of the Year,” New Year’s Eve 2012 Block Party
Aloha Tower is the site for 10 venues and dozens of bars, with a view of the midnight fireworks, live reggae bands, and multiple DJs playing dancehall, electro, disco, funk, hip-hop, alternative, mashups, modern and classic rock.

“New Year’s Eve Ignite 2012: End of the World”
This is Waikiki’s glitzy contribution to the New Year’s Eve party mix, presented by Rumfire and Edge of Waikiki. Party favors include a 2012 Meteor Ball drop and good view of the Waikiki fireworks, DJs Betty and Revise, and dancing under the open skies.

“NYE Celebration: An Intimate Affair”
Pearl’s special edition of “Beautiful,” hosted by Russell Tanoue, offers champagne, party favors, beauty giveaways, roses, music by Kristian Lei from 10 p.m. until midnight, a balloon drop and dancing till 4 a.m.

“Pin Up the New Year”

The Standard’s New Year’s Eve Bash
Headlining West Coast house music DJ Enrie will be joined by R3Phunk and residents Jami and Logoe from Nocturnal Sound Krew for a night of hip-hop-inflected dancing at Honolulu’s newest club, the sleek Standard. There will be party favors, and champagne for a midnight toast.

“Ultimate White Party”
Hula’s Bar & Lei Stand is theming its New Year’s Eve party “A Celebration of Hawaii Civil Unions.” Hosted by Cocoa Chandelier, it includes dancing, champagne, and giveaways.

“LUX at the Trump: New Year’s Eve”
This party’s theme is “Casino Royale,” tux or gown is optional, but guests are advised to dress to impress. DJ Scott Stiles headlines the entertainment, accompanied by live musicians. There will also be a wishing tree, party favors, time-shifted video from Times Square so that partygoers can watch the ball drop, and a New Year’s Eve toast.

Anna O’Brien’s Irish New Year’s Party
Here’s one for the ragged rockers who want to keep it rowdy and friendly, with live bands 11th Hour, Chas Hays, The Art of Whimsy, and Number Brothers.

“Neon Lights”
Thirtyninehotel’s contribution to the New Year’s Eve party mix is DJ-centric, natch, with two mainland guests. DJ Juan Nunez, who’s presided over thirtynine’s dance floor before, is a star of the West Coast house music scene and a resident of the weekly Release party in L.A. He’s also well-known among house aficionados for running the Westbound and Freestyle labels. Christine Renee, originally from Austin, Texas, made her name as a DJ on New York’s Lower East Side, and was an original practitioner of disco ecelecticism. Now based in Venice Beach, Calif., she’s known on both coasts for her joyous, expressionistic and dancer-friendly mixes.
The club will be decked out in black lights and neon for New Year’s Eve, and dancers are encouraged to dress accordingly. Doors open at 9 p.m. at thirtyninehotel, 39 N. Hotel St. Amazingly enough, the cover charge is only $5. 599-2552
NYE 2012 Year of the Dragon
Chinatown’s Nextdoor has a strong entry in the New Year’s Eve lineup with its “Year of the Dragon” extravaganza, starring charismatic DJ Nicky Savage and including live performances by ALT/AIR & GRLFRNDS, with DJ Kowai Kowai.
There will be a balloon drop, champagne toast, firecrackers and “free kisses.”

“Black & White: New Year’s Eve of Elegance”
Paparazzi Nightclub will be closing its doors after this event, so it’s one last chance to party in the expansive space, with an outdoor lanai and three rooms of music.
This 18-and-over event includes electronic dance music in the first space, with DJs Dallas Debauch, Derek and One Three.
The second room will boom with Top 40, hip-hop and mashups from DJ Frizel, TC and more.
On the patio, rock out to live music from Bats in the Belfree, Breath of Fire and Virgin Mary.
The show starts at 9:30 p.m. and goes on until 2 a.m. at Paparazzi, Ward Center. Cover is $10 for guys wearing black and free for women wearing white until 10:30 p.m., $15 afterward.
