Skratch Sessions December Edition to Benefit the Keiki

The Beyond Honolulu family is teaming up with the Lightsleepers family and bringing back another round of Skratch Sessions. This time, to celebrate the holiday season, Beyond Honolulu and the Lightsleeper crew are presenting Skratch Sessions December Edition to benefit the kids. All donations and proceeds will be given to the Toy’s for Tots people.

The Skratch Sessions December Edition will once again providing a venue and, more importantly, another opportunity for Hawaii’s best DJ’s/turntablists to showcase their talents.  Inspired by the Skratchpad events started in California in 2003, Skratch Sessions allows multiple turntables to be set up on the same stage – creating the opportunity for multiple DJ’s to perform simultaneously.  The atmosphere that’s created is akin to watching your favorite band spontaneously play through a ‘jam session.’  With more than 10+ DJ’s set to hit the stage on December 7^th, this December edition of Skratch Sessions is not to be missed.

Admission is free, as it usually is,  but with this being the Christmas season, we are asking that everyone chip in for the keiki. Your donation of $5 at the door OR a new, unopened toy, or both, will benefit the Toys For Tots program.  Representatives of the Marine Corp will be on hand to collect donations, and we’d love to see the community step up for a great cause!  As always, Fresh Café’s full menu of late-night breakfast items, café drinks, salads and sandwiches will be available for purchase.

Multiple turntable set-ups, late night Fresh Cafe breakfast specials, and a dope night of hip-hop culture!
