Plot Synopsis
It is 1933 and auditions for a new Broadway show are underway. Peggy Sawyer arrives in New York fresh off the bus from Allentown, Pennsylvania and a series of lucky breaks gets her into the show’s chorus.
As the whole cast heads to Philadelphia for an out of town tryout, the leading lady breaks her ankle. The chorus girls convince director Julian Marsh that Peggy could be the answer to saving the show and she is…in only thirty-six hours, Peggy learns twenty-five pages, six songs and ten dance numbers! The show is a huge success and Peggy has indeed “gone out a youngster and come back a star.”
A tap dancing extravaganza, 42nd STREET features songs such as “We’re in the Money,” “Shuffle Off to Buffalo,” and of course, the title song, “42nd Street”.

Old Time Revival is a monthly event at Downbeat Diner & Lounge for which the musical crowd of Honolulu countdown the days impatiently. Mostly because it features great non-recurrent musicians, allowing each month a new live experience. This month edition will feature Dicord and Rye, No Ack!, and The Infamous Bourbon Boys.
Discord and Rye
At the center of the exploding Americana movement in Honolulu is Discord & Rye, a roots-rock group of musicians dedicated to exploring the history and future of original American music. With solid foundations in folk, bluegrass, blues and rock, Discord & Rye has taken roots music off of the porch and into Honolulu’s revered whiskey joints… Their sound is honest, feel good music with timeless qualities…
No Ack!
A band from Honolulu playing alcohol fueled singalong campfire music.
The Infamous Bourbon Boys
The Infamous Bourbon Boys came together out of the spontaneous backyard jams sessions at the House Of Wax in the foothills of Manoa, Hawai’i. The combination of uptempo mountain music and down home delta blues is sure to strike a chord with those who just can’t get enough of that good ol’ American Music. This 5 piece string band lends itself to tradition in composition, all while putting the stories of modern times into song lines from days gone bye. If a name ever encompassed an idea… then you know what to expect from… The Infamous Bourbon Boys.

Voices of Aloha, formerly The Gleeman Plus of Honolulu, traces its origins back to 1916 when the Gleemen of Honolulu, the oldest male chorus west of the Rockies, was established. In 1996, while under the direction of Shigeru Hotoke, the group was opened to women and the name was changed to Gleemen Plus of Honolulu. In 2013 the name was finally changed to Voices of Aloha. Mark Yasuhara has directed the group since 2007. Voices of Aloha is the quinessential community choir representing a cross-section of the multi-generational, cultural, racial, and religious tapestry that is Hawai’i, singing songs the community loves. Voices of Aloha present two major concerts annually – in May and December. In addition, they perform at retirement communities and many other events.
