Elton John and his band are set to return to Hawaii in January of 2012 to perform their “Greatest Hits Live” concert, according to promoter Tom Moffatt. The concert is set to go down at the Blaisdell on January 6th, 2012. Originally their was only one concert scheduled, but due to high-demand, a second concert was added.
“The Blaisdell Arena is ecstatic to have Elton John return to the stage in Honolulu,” said Blaisdell Arena Events and Services Manager John C. Fuhrman in a press release.
Elton John is one of the best selling solo artists of all time. When you look at his numbers they are staggering. Of his many career achievements, the highlights include:
- 35 Gold Albums
- 25 Platinum Albums
- 29 Consecutive Top 40 hits
- He has sold more than 250 million records worldwide
- His single, “Candle in the Wind ’97,” is the biggest selling single of all time, with more than 37 million copies sold.
- He has played almost 3,000 concerts since launching his career in 1969.
As stated above, Elton John will be bringing his and with him. They include Davey Johnstone on guitar, Bob Birch on bass, John Mahon on percussion, Nigel Olsson on drums, and Kim Bullard on keyboards.

Tickets for the Jan. 6 concert go on sale at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29.
Tickets for the Jan 7 concert go on sell October 31st at noon.
Prices range from $39 to $139.
