Hawaii search and rescue crews discovered the body of a 17-year old boy that had been swept out to see Friday in Puna. The search was initially called off for the boy late Friday because of lack of visibility.
The search resumed early this morning and crews recovered a body near Shipman Estates Beach, where the boy was swimming and was swept out of the bay by strong currents. The boy had been swimming with two friends.
Divers made three dives with no luck yesterday before calling off the search. The boy’s name has not been released.
