Scott Caan, one of the actors on the hit CBS television show Hawaii Five-0 got was putting in a guest appearance on the Chelsea Handler Show and proceeded to slam Hawaii. Truth be told, it seemed like Handler did her fair share of criticizing Hawaii as well, as the two stars seem to team up on the islands. There were several things said while the clip aired, as it seems Caan is pretty disenchanted with Hawaii as a whole.
Among the things discussed were the slower pace of the islands, the drug problem, the surfing, and apparently the bad food. Here are some of the quotes from his appearance on the Chelsea Handler Show.
“Everything is very slow motion. Everything is too relaxed for me. I like to hustle, and there’s no hustle there,” Caan said.
He also talked about surfing, which he said was more about “survival” here, and said the food in Hawaii “sucks.”
Caan Apologizes for Comments Made about Hawaii
Not noted above is the fact that he slammed Hawaii for drug problems as well. Truth be told though, Caan and Handler didn’t say anything that isn’t true. Hawaii is slower paced, which is why most people love it, surfing is different here from anywhere else, and Hawaii does indeed have a major drug problem in the form of meth. Caan was simply stating some opinions he had, and while he probably shouldn’t have done it on national television like that — seeing as how him and his girlfriend still live in Hawaii, he really only said one thing that wasn’t true. Hawaii actually has some of the best food on the planet, so I am not sure where that thought came from.
Hawaii Five-0 Sunset on the Beach
While Caan was simply stating some personal opinions, he may find it a bit more difficult to live in Hawaii now after those comments went viral. He may also want to look for a new PR person, as it seems his current one doesn’t have much control over his mouth on national television. You can see the entire clip here and judge for yourself. Seems lie Caan and Handler are both slamming Hawaii some.

He only said his opinion. What’s wrong about that? Noone likes every place in the world and some has to live (for the job) somewhere they don’t like. I think Scott said nothing wrong. I don’t understand the trouble about that.
Jeremy says
This wasn’t even all that bad… As a matter of fact, he didn’t say anything that wasn’t true, except for maybe the food thing. Plus, leave it to Chelsea Handler to instigate things.
